Astilleros Bender is a new full-service ship construction, conversion, and repair organization with facilities close to Tampico, Mexico.

Astilleros Bender (A.B.) is conveniently located 10 kilometers from the Gulf of Mexico up the Panuco River across from the city of Tampico. The shipyard consists of 50.5 hectares of Land, and 914 meters of river frontage that are accessed by an 8.5 meters deep maintained river channel.

A.B. currently is concentrating on ship repair, and has in operation a 3000-ton lift capacity dry dock. A.B. also has 457 meters of riverside repair facility open for business.

The facility currently has capabilities including warehousing, marine fabrication, pipe fabrication, electrical, mechanical, blasting and painting. A.B. has available cranes with the lift capability of 10 to 225 tons. A.B. also has all necessary equipment and tools required to support shipyard operations.

A.B. will have the necessary support from management, engineering, production and sales teams of Bender Shipbuilding & Repair Co. and Tampa Bay Shipbuilding & Repair Company. For more than 75 years, Bender has been a leading ship construction and repair business. All three yards are conveniently located to allow customers close access from anywhere in the Gulf of Mexico.

Astilleros Bender is currently constructing a larger dry-dock for service by mid 2005. This will allow A.B. to expand its services to customers in Mexico and the surrounding regions. A.B. also is developing plans to build a new construction facility similar to the one at Bender Shipbuilding in Mobile, Alabama. The new facility will be equipped with a modern panel line that will support modular construction of marine vessels of all types. This assures A.B. the opportunity to produce a good quality product in a timely manner.
